I’m presuming this is an 80’s compilation so I’m slightly confused as to why Electronic’s “Get the message” is on here,as that was released as a single in 1991... Anyway, solid compilation of songs.
  • Same songs, different running order,

The 1980s produced some truly great music. The first half of the decade in particular resounded with fresh new genres, styles and alternate takes on the breakthrough music of the late 70's. I'm not going to deny that this collection contains some of the best of the decade. It even contains a few underground classics that didn't exactly bother the charts, but are seminal tracks of the era. My big gripe is that 95% of the tracks have already been on literally dozens of other 80's compilations. The lack of imagination of the music companies is mind numbing and that inevitably means they release what we all have dozens of times over. Changing the running order of the tracks does not make a new album worth buying, we can all switch our music players to shuffle and get the same effect without spending a penny. Credit where it's due thought. It's great to see usually ignored tracks by acts like Man Parrish, Sylvian and Sakamoto and Propaganda; I just wish there were more of them rather than the majority being the same uninspired selection.

So glad to see Forbidden Colours finally get the recognition it deserves.

Yes we’ve had all the tracks before on every 80s album ever but I would highly recommend this for the mix that is included.
  • Proving modern music is rubbish.

Goes to show that a compilation album consisting of 80's hits is the only way record companies can sell music. No one buys music like they used to because its all mostly rubbish now. Check out iTunes top selling albums. It's mostly stuff recorded years ago by real bands.

Good set of tunes but nothing new or unique to this album to make it worth an investment. If you like this genre you will already have the hits from this album.
